Well, where has this year gone....way too fast that is for sure.

Too much happening in our lives right now to be able to update our blog. Hopefully life will settle down and we will get back to scrapping soon.

Computer is on the fritz and going in the shop on Wednesday... External Hard Drive crashed and died, Keyboard Died....Gramma Rosie had a fall a month ago and is in Rehab/Nursing home and we had to get rid of her apt :( a sad day for all of us...Hope she gets better soon, but progress is very slow...at 90 we can only pray for peace in her remaining days.

Loosing Brother Joe was the beginning of our sadness in our lives, have still not fully recovered from that shock, Derby was the last one at Mc Grath, a bittersweet week filled with tears of Goodbyes to Joe and Mc Grath.

I will be back when life settles down...Love and Hugs to any who are looking for me.
Im in hiding and not sure when Ill be back

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

Here I am way late on updating my blog - Christmas has passed and New Years is right around the corner.
I had an awesome Thanksgiving with my girls and their families here and we had Christmas at Michaeles this year and it was awesome....Nothing like the excitement of little ones to lift the spirits.
This was a very tight year for all of us but the main thing is we are all in good health and together which is a true blessing. We are praying the new year opens up some good things for Michaele and her family!

Speaking of New Year - With the New Year comes a new Digi-Scrapping Site.
Our dear friend and fellow Scrapper Pam (On My Own Designs) has started her own site ' sKrap Happens' and 14 or so of us have been kinda helping work toward the Grand Opening which will be on January 8th. Please mark that date on your calendars :)

I do hope you will come and visit us, join in the fun and games with lots of neat prizes! A whole lot of Wonderful fellow scrappers have worked their fingers off to bring us all back together and we are really looking forward to 3 weeks of plenty of challenges and good times!

November Half Over Already

Boy, what a bad blogger I am!

It is with a sad heart that we say good bye to Deco Pages :( Deb has kept the site going for quite awhile now but the time has come to say goodbye... We will miss you Deco Pages.

This makes 3 sites that all my layouts were at have gone! I will be starting all over soon!

And on the Happy side of things - The 'Fab14' will be announcing a new Scrapbooking site soon - Stay tuned.

This is just a quick post - will update later on.

Wow - Its the end of September

I am not sure where my September 1st post went - it looks like it started another blog :( Wish I knew how to get rid of it - maybe Michaele can help tomorrow.

Nothin much new here - we are still traveling a little each week. Went down to Menifee to visit Roger and Marliese and went to the Indian Casinos - We had a great time and a great visit. They just moved down there a couple months ago from Prescott AZ, so nice to have them alot closer !!! Mike and Roger have been friends since they were little guys, lol...it is so much fun listening to the two of them talk about the old days - and times and friends that we found were more common than not (Rogers 1st wife was in my class, lol) Small world.

Bob and Reni moved to Menifee with their daughter till their home is finished then they will move close by there also. We werent able to see them during our trip to see Roger as I didnt have an addy or my cell phone that had her phone # :( Next time...their new home should be ready by the end of October!

Mikes family is going on a cruise - They will all be gone for 5 days - down to Mexico ! That is too far to be away from my cats and home and on a boat :(

Dont think I could deal with that - so we are staying home and will go to the cabin for a few days and to Michaeles for the Weekend for a car show at the Park and Kaylenes Volleyball tournament...they won all 3 games today so they are in first place! Will go early in the morning.

Michaele had a wisdom tooth pulled on Thursday- It seems to be doing ok - thank goodness - they can be a pain!

Bobbi, Rick and the girls went to Knotts Berry Farm today and will be home tomorrow - This is what Bobbi wanted to do for her Birthday Sure sounds like fun!!! Been many years since we went to Knotts or Disneyland - They are tooo dang expensive!!!

Well, the weather is still quite hot and Im loving it - just not ready for Daylight savings time to be over in November, but sure am glad the new TV season is starting this coming Sunday. Reruns Suck!

Dgital Scapping Garden all of a sudden is closed - we went through when the Scrapping Gardendid the same thing....Pam, Jacque, Wendy, Dee, Chunlin, and the rest of the girls are hopefully going to have a new home soon. Pam is trying to buy a store but having a bit of a problem as the contract has been signed and the check sent and no word from the lady....Eeeks, now that is really scarey.

I hpe to have a new scrapping gallery soon - I have a few layouts Ive done but it just doesnt seem the same posting in the forums under the challenges.

We are now at sKrap Happens - stop on by and visit with us.

June has come too fast!

I completely missed my blog the full month of May - I have been so busy I dont know if Im coming or going!!! Doing lots of layouts over at the Digital Scrapping Garden and loving it there.

We are doing well, getting ready for our camping trip pretty soon...its coming too darn fast tho! Im ready for it but alot of work yet to be done.

The weather has been very mild - this is the first week of real heat. Had 90 today but still have not turned on the swamp or AC, house stays cool. We had to replace our water heater last week, unbelievable - only 10 years old, what a shock that was, as our last water heater lasted over 30 years! Goes to show ya how they make things now days!

Kaylene and Kori will be on summer break officially on Thursday of this week.
Kaylene continues with High SChool volleyball summer league and is still doing
her club Volleyball with the Tehachapi Starlings. The nationals will be in San Diego in two weeks - I know she loves it - but sure dont get to see her as much anymore :( This summer she will spend a week at Volleyball camp in Fresno, it will be her first time away from home (other than nana and papas) so Im sure she
will enjoy it - we will not have any finger nails left by the time she comes home!

Kori is Kori - into mischief and never sitting still - Looks like its gonna be a long summer for Michaele :) Maybe we will bring her over for a few days and take her shopping and to see Gramma Rosie, something differnt for a change :)

Here are a few layouts I did today - well, wont let me upload them, so will just post one of the beautiful rose that bloomed the other day...Joe and Carol gave the plant to me for my birthday last year - isnt is gorgeous! Have to get all my challenge layouts done before mid month due to vacation!!! The whole month is shot!

OH my Easter has just shot past us once again!!!
Yikes - where has time gone.....seems the days, weeks and months are flying by.

I have been doing my scrapping at Digital Scrap Garden and also playing Mafia Wars and Vampire Wars on facebook. Along with keeping the house clean, shopping, visiting and traveling, there is not much time left over....I still havnt gotton
a freebie up for yu yet :( I'm sorry.

Michaele and I completed the ADSR 5 Challenges and were picked as 2nd runner ups to the Grand Prize.....we have received several coupons for kits from various designers and sites. Thank you all, they are gorgeous and hope I can use them all!.

Expecting company up tomorrow, so lots of cleaning to do since we are only home a couple days a week or so....and will try to put some of my layouts up to keep family updated,,,

Cousin Mary in England is doing ok with all the Volcanic Ash - she is going to Spain for a few weeks to get away from it....what a mess huh!!! I remember when Mt. St. Helens erupted many many years ago - and we were in CA - it was in OR!!! Ash all over everthing and I still have a bottle of the dust/ash that our Salesman Wes Clark brought down for me when I was working for Kelite - long time ago.

Speaking of Kelite I had a call two days ago from a co-workers wife. He went to the hospital on Tuesday, diagnosed with Severe Diabetes, caught Pneumonia and passed away on Thursday - 60 years old - I am still in shock - My buddy Willie, Im so heart broken and sad to say we have not talked or made contact in at least 10 years since we moved up here.

Bad thing about getting older - everyone else does too! God Bless you Willie and watch over your dear wife Ginny, son Willie Jr and daughter Krystal - my heart aches for you all.

Off to find some layouts to post :)

Oh My Gosh- Where did March Go???

Wow, now was that a fast month or what? I cant believe I started the ADSR Challenge with Michaele and we are finished and I didnt even get our layouts posted here - or anything else for that matter.
It has been very busy with the ADSR, the crazy weather we have been having.
Had Rosie in the Hospital for a week and hospital visits daily will really
knock ya for a loop, sure did me! Trying to keep up with challenges - well
not doing well in that dept. I had to drop Deco Pages Sunshine Team, my heart
was just not in it and not enough time in a day to be a good team member.

Having fun at Digital Scrapping Garden - I think I have found my home...After
The Scrapping Garden closed and then the Second Scrapping Garden tried.... and
couldnt quite get off the ground...Im am comfy and pray that this one will be
good to go for many years. Think it would break my heart if this happened again.
The bonds between the scrappers is a special one, like family and is an important
part of life.

Big Bear is finally out from under 9 feet of snow over the month of January and
it is finally melting, although they may get another storm later this week and another foot of snow! It was 86 here today and gorgeous - this storm will drive
the temps down to the 50's or lower and snow level at 3000' (we are at 2500) so
we will brace for the worse. One of these days I will get my patio cover finished
Wire brushed it today and pick up the stain tomorrow, after our Easter Grocery Shopping and GrammaRosie visit is done. So will have to wait for dry weather again.

Hope everyone has a Blessed Easter and I will be back when I have more time and have made some goodies to share.

ADSR 5- Is Under way

Well, the Amazing Digi Scrap Race is underway!
This year Michaele and I are once again participating and are the Scrapzone Mama's, Team 63

We have just started week 1 and have each posted our 1st layouts
The requirements for Challenge 1 are:

A Layout about your Partner - Introduce your partner,tell something about them and describe them by using 5 words.
We must also scraplift a layout from their Gallery to do our layout with.

We both had a ball doing these and Michaele got Petal of The Day at The Digi Scrap Garden and I got Layout of the Day at Deco Pages -
We are truly Honored, as there are so many great layouts out there.

Wow, I cant believe how fast this year is going. I think Life is really been off and running for the last 4 months...and has not stopped. Hopefully with the cooler weather around the corner we will stay put for longer than a couple of days home a week!

Man where is time going? I feel like the year is passing me by - cant believe its almost May- YIKES!!!!

Well, it has been in the 100's this past week but is cooling down and the winds are coming back - phooey! I hate winds.....and wind gusts and wish they would go away....sure they cooled it down but cant do anything outside...like my walking - I miss it when I can walk - have to get on the stationary bike and peddle for awhile!

Here is another layout I did of the girls on Easter (also using Jennifers too cute Spring Bliss kit) .....love the silly faces too they are making here .....I have also used Pammy Yates Word Art Hoppy Easter...lol, too cute!

A Little Freebie For you

To Start I would like to wish everyone a Happy and Blessed Easter. We are going to Michaele's for the weekend and will have Easter with her Family, Mikes brother Joe and maybe our Daughter Bobbi, Rick and Ruthie and Roz will make it down - its quite a drive for them, but we might get lucky!

I lost a little bit of my scrapping heart when it closed I dont know why...but I am still pickin up the pieces and trying to get my momentum back with the new challenges there.

Flowering Plum

Just had to show you this layout of our Beautiful Flowering Plum Tree -

We came home on Saturday to find our Flowering Plum tree in full bloom....the winds were expected to be gusting up to 75 mph later that day so I thought Id better get some shots of it before they all blew away! They didnt blow away but it was not quite this beautiful the next day.

Kit used was Chickadee by Mirella at Scrapityscrapandmore - Adorable kit and I loved working with it!

Another week has gone by

Hi Everyone - Ive been mia again. I had trouble with my puter, it was getting so slow and was just a pain to be on. I cleaned and checked everything and no virus' or anything so when I talked to the people at Best Buy we told them about it and they asked how old my modem was...when I said 5 years old - they laughed and said - sounds like its gone bad. Well, Verizon got me a modem overnighted from PA and it was here in less than 24 hours - I dont believe it.

After a phone call to walk me through installing it I am back up and running - much better than before. So if your puter is slow and you have an old modem, you may need a new one! Lesson learned.

Well, Michaele and I will be starting our 11th challenge for the Amazing DigiScrap Race on Sunday then only one more after that :) It has really been fun and we are getting lots of neat kits and learning alot. The last challenge Michaele had to interview me with 5 questions...it turned out cute.

Not much new here, weather has been quite cool and we have had a little sprinkling of rain and tons of wind! I hate wind!!! Expecting more this weekend.

Oh My Goodness

I cant believe its been a whole month since Ive posted here. I have been so busy that I just havnt been able to add another stop on my daily computer work!

I Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. We went to Laughlin for a few days and had a great time. We never go anywhere on New Years so this was a treat. On top of a great trip and a free Lobster Dinner, Mike even won a good chunk of change on the penny machine...He still cannot believe it. Someone was watching over us.

Michaele and I are Teammates for the Amazing Digi Scrap Race - Season 4... It has been two weeks now and 6 challenges - we are having a great time and I am learning lots.

Is everyone working on the new craze....Project 365 - Taking a photo every day and then making a layout(or 2) of those pics at the end of the week. What a great album we are going to be having... - Also takes alot of time, lol.

The weather has been nice here in the desert - the last couple days a bit cloudy and sprinkles - supposed to get colder and more rain Sunday-Tuesday...Im so ready for Spring!

Grandaughter Kaylene has been so busy with her Basketball and Vollyball touring we hardly get to see her these days - nor does Michaele! Between school and sports she is still bringing home Straight A's!

I have not been a good CT for Jennifer or Michaele this month due to the ADSR Challenge and trying to keep up with the challenges at TSG and Deco Pages.

Michaele is doing the Sketch/Template Challenge at Deco Pages - Love this template she has given for the challenge and the posting prize is super.

Please go to her Blog too as she has some adorable goodies for the Project 365 and the cutest little hearts for Valentines Day.

Jennifer has made the cutest kit called Tweet-Tweet -Ive used it for one of my layouts for the ADSR Challenge where you cant used any photos - It is an adorable kit and is just too cute,
you will have to go see it over at Deco Pages.

And, Jennifer is also running the ABC Challenge - what a gorgeous Alpha she is giving us to work with and great Posting prize too!

I will be posting some kind of freebie soon - As soon as I can get out from under all these challenges I will be doing. Dont give up on me :)

Wow, Ive had 10,000 Visitors

Wow, what a nice thing to wake up to. Thank you all for visiting my little blog, makes me feel very loved.

It's official - they said we got 10" - Well, thats lots more than the dusting I wished for!
Well, we shoveled snow for two days- now we have temps in the 20's for 2 nights and lots of ice - sure glad we shoveled our way in and out, cleared off the dock and patio but it still slipping off the roof and we still have 2' berm all the way around the house from that.

Hope you are all ready for Christmas. I sorta am....Have a bit of baking to do and need to get the truck in for some servicing on Monday or Tuesday, depending on the weather. Will go have our Christmas with Rosie as we will go to Michaele's Christmas eve Day (I think) depending on the weather...expecting another storm like the last one, but more rain and less snow. So will see, hope we dont get stuck here staying home!

In case I dont get back I just wanted to Wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

I had been wishing for some some - maybe just a light dusting over a few hours - Wow, did I get my wish and then some. We live in the Southern California High Desert and the chances of snow are very rare, in 5 years its snowed once!

I had been sleeping very lightly, like a kid at Christmas DH says....waiting and listening for some sign of snow.....yesterday I woke up a bit later than usual around 7 and I peeked out the window and it was just starting. I woke up dh and said its snowing, its snowing....he could have cared less...at this point I was grabbing my slippers and a sweatshirt and 2 cameras in hand and heading outside. The snow was not sticking - yet! Long story short....it started sticking on everything including the cement around 1:00 in the afternoon and then we got the full force of the storm - Wow, it snowed and blowed and snowed till almost 7pm. We got about 7-9" of beautiful fluffy snow....It was awesome, but I knew it was going to be a big job to clean up after it. To make matters worse we lost our Sattelite dish and tv for most of the day, after many brushings we finally got the hose out after the snow stopped and it started working once again...didnt want to miss our evening shows!

We have a patio cover and of course our Christmas decorations, Santa and his elves in a boat and 2 christmas trees up there...well, we ended with about 8" of snow on top of that and it has been dripping and melting all day. We shoveled all the snow off the boat cover, dock, catwalks and then the patio.....whew, I burned off alot of calories today shoveling snow and throwing it into the lake!

Late this afternoon we tried to start the front yard - well, the snow has been slipping off the 1st and 2nd stories all day and we have a 3-4' berm all around the house - including the garage and front courtyard.....Its still falling off the roof! We shoveled off the berm to about 2' and laid it out so it would melt better as it was in the shade.....tomorrow it will be another day to shovel more and unbury our blow up Santa and snowmen, hope they still work.

I have taken over 200 pictures - I know a little overkill. I will remember this day always and dh wont let me forget my wish !

Hi everyone - just a quick post....We had a little shaker last nite in the desert - it was a 5.1 Earthquake which was centered about 30 miles from here - Didnt do any damage and we should be used to them by now, but they sure rattle my cage! We are all fine.

Cant believe its a week till Thanksgiving :( Where has this year gone ??

We are having Thanksgiving here at our house this year....hope everyone will be able to make it....depends on the weather too and it has been absolutly gorgeous the last 2 weeks - no wind and a perfect 80-85 degrees...Ideal!!! Keep our fingers crossed and say our prayers.

Not much new here have been chipping away at the Christmas list and almost done, would like it all done before Thanksgiving as I hate crowds, so that is the plan. Michaele and the girls will be over Thanksgiving Morning and will stay till Sunday morning. We will do some after Thanksgiving shopping if its not tooo busy and the sales are good!

Geeze, Ive been so busy Ive really neglected my blog - Sorry bout that. We have been back and forth to the cabin trying to get it ready for the winter...think we are done now...if the weather stays good, we may try and get up one more time before the snow flies.

Cant Believe its October Already

Wow - where is time going??? Mom used to say 'the older you get the faster it goes...and she was sure right!

Lots of the blues today - everytime I turn around Im tearing up. October is a hard month for us. I lost my Dad 7 years ago today and in 10 days on the 13th I lost my Mother in law, who was my Mom for 34 years (longer than my own Mom, who I lost when I was 21 - Dec 7th) Ahhhh, life is misserable some times and this is another hard one to get through!

Enough of that - I got my next CT kit from Jennifer, its called Baby Dreams and it is absolutely too adorable for words. Your can find it in the store at Deco Pages, and its even on sale for just $3.99 - what a great buy - please go over and check it out and see all elements and beautiful papers she has made. Too Kewl! Here is my layout using her gorgeous Kit!

This 1st layout was using the three colors of the kit and look at that gorgeous lace and cute balloons....and darling little Bennett (Elizabeths new Grandson) when he was first born.

This layout was done for the ABC Challenge at Deco Pages using Jennifers Adorable Majestic Alpha Tags - I also used mainly the green items as we were given a list of what to use for the challenge....didnt it turn out too cute...Again, little Bennett's toes - Love toes!

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend - this is our first weekend home in a long long time. In fact we are lucky if we are home more than 2 days in a row.....Busy lives - but keeps us up and moving.

Wow, I cant believe what a neat kit this is to work with! Don;t you just love the colors and all the cute elements ( I Love Beads!)

Expression of Harvest by Jennifer Rassi is available at Deco Pages for only $3.99. It is gorgeous and so versatile. Here is another layout Ive done and also made into a quick page to share with you.

We have just returned from the Cabin and got a whole lot accomplished. We finished the reinforcing the fence, replacing the slats and painting the whole thing (about 80'), then did the split rail around the front yard, then I decided the concrete block around the bottom of the garage needed a lift and thinned out the paint alot and put a fresh coat on them (will water seal next trip) while DH painted the peak behind our loft as it gets alot of the weather and was fading....gee, by the time we finish all our work it will be time to button it up for winter! We dont like cold and snow and the heater in there came with the cabin (built in 1948) so its an oldie - one of these days we'll replace it but it works good for what we use it for!

Another week gone

Well, Another week has gone - whew...where are they going so darn fast.

Didnt do a whole lot this week except stay cool. It has been 107 for the last 5 days and 95 today- quite a relief.

We are going back to Big Bear for a few more days to try and get thing finished up with all the painting and the fence repair and enteraining a bit too. BIL Joe is coming up also this trip :), so we will have a nice bbq if we can find some propane somewhere:)

Ive done lots of layouts this week, and have updated my slide shows for both the pics and layouts - propbably easier to look there :) I have packing to do again we will be gone 3 days, home 3 days and gone 3 days again - not home much.

Wow, I cant believe how fast the month of August has gone. DH and I seemed to have celebrated the whole month of August for our Birthdays...lol - Now comes the dieting and more exercise to get off the xtra pounds from all the cake, ice cream, and dinners and celebrations away from home!

Another Week bites the dust!

Just a quickie hello from here at the lake - Hope everyone is enjoying the 3 Quick Pages - I will leave them up for a bit longer then I will be taking them down and doing a few more -Lets see what Michaele (burkhartscrapzone) comes up with for Mom to play with :) LOL

Oh I finally got to update my Slide show - These are just a few of the 400+ pics
we took that week....Myself, Michaele, Kaylene and Bobbi - makes for tons of Pics.

Was everyone as happy as we were that Michael Phelps picked up his 8th Gold Medal? Since it was on at 11pm or very close to it we were sitting in bed watching it with all 3 cats - (I do believe were watching it too)we were cheering and my poor cats just looked at us like we were some kind of crazy people and when he won they all jumped off the bed! Wow - Congratulations Michael, WTG!

Well, this will be short... I have an hour or so before it gets too hot so I will do a bit of cleaning as its already 90 at 10am - Going to be a hot one again today.

We are having a chat on Tuesday at TSG at 9pmEST on PSE. We always have alot of fun there while we are learning! I will not be able to get there this week, but last week we learned how to Fill Text - For us beginners it was alot of fun. Here is the layout I did with my learning!

Today is my Birthday -A freebie for you!

Today is my Birthday and I have a gift for you !

My dh, girls, grandaughters, grandson and a few very close friends had one heck of a BBQ in Big Bear Yesterday for DH's and my Birthdays. It was wonderful. We had a great time cooking and BBQing for about 20-25 people and my girls and SIL did all the dishes and cleaned up and put the leftovers away -
Michaele made me another gorgeous Layout Book of their trip to Mammoth - Its Gorgeous and I will treasue it forever - I was good and didnt cry this time like I did at Christmas! And also a great hanging sign that says "Nana and Papas Place", where the flock gather...Its adorable~
And I got some great shirts, perfumes and goodies from Bobbi and the girls too, it was a wonderful day and the weather held and no Thunderstorms for either Thursday or Friday afternoons (at least where we were )
I will work on the pics in a day or so as tonite Im pretty tired - too tired to even go out for Pizza ! Thats Tired, cuz I never pass up Pizza!
